Give each group a picture of an animal and have them make sound then the other groups guess what animal they are. Here are a few animal pictures.

What makes you different? Think about what you like to do, where you come from, who is in your family, a language you speak, etc…kids put up their hand and answer

Take a moment to coach the class on how to behave if someone lands on “lose a turn”

There are no bonus points in the elementary version make sure that #2, # 3’s, #4 ‘s & #5’s get a chance to spin at the end of the game – have them come up one at a time and have their team cheer them on

Friendship tree – grade 2 & 3

Each child puts their name on a leaf – each child can also write a word that represents what they learned eg friendship, sharing, respect – write the words on the blackboard

Each child sticks their leaf to the friendship tree

“Friendship tree is for you to keep in your class room. It will remind you…” – review challenges and inclusion – do this with the younger children

Blindfold challenge – grade 4

Blindfold Challenge

One person volunteers to be blindfolded from each team (one at a time)

1 facilitator work with blindfolded child

1 facilitator work with rest of group to help them guide the blindfolded child – gr 4

* Grade 2s, 3s have a hard time sitting for a long time – if they start to get squirmy – do a quick game of Simon Says, ending with “Simon says sit down and play Spinclusion” You may need to do this a couple of times. Remember to have fun, be positive and engage the teacher as well.

Lose a Turn - Take a moment to coach the class on how to behave if someone lands on “lose a turn” (1-2-3 – all together - “That’s okay”).

Double your score – have them spin again and double what they landed on eg 100 points becomes 200

* Remember to review the challenges after each questions – which one fits best?
